Rappaport Roundtable: Policing the Occupy Protests: How Well Did Cities Respond?

This is the fourth in a series of Rappaport Roundtable discussions sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
The Occupy protest that began in New York City in September 2011 spread quickly to dozens of US cities, posing difficult questions for police forces and elected leaders about the appropriate response. Hear from Professor Alex Vitale of Brooklyn College, a noted commentator on policing and protest management, who is undertaking a study of the Occupy protests in ten major US cities. He provides some views about the variations in police response drawn from his work in progress.
